趣味&特技

  • My main hobby is the game of Go, although I do not get the chance to play as often as I would like. It is pretty much the only thing that I can actually spend all night doing nowadays.

  • I also like computers and have spent a great deal of time both resolving and causing problems with my own desktop system. I currently maintain a Web site dealing with Japanese literature in English.

学生諸君にひとこと

Good journalism relies on clarity of expression. It is a simple principle that can be surprisingly difficult to put into practice. Yet when it this principle is observed, the result is not just the communication of information but also of ideas, and thus represents a genuine contribution to the store of human knowledge. It is a goal well worth aiming for.
