Mikihito TANAKA

Course: Research Methods in Environmental Life Science

Since bioscience is deeply involved with the life and death of human beings, many complex issues closely related to society surface when bioscience is built into the structure of science and technology journalism. I plan to explore with you these issues, which seem too complicated for us to find answers to, through a strenuous, yet possibly pleasant process.

Kou YAMADA

Course: Introduction to Global Environmental Study

My specialty is earth and planetary science. It is an interdisciplinary field of study that aims to elucidate every natural phenomenon happening on the earth and other planets, including their birth, by fully leveraging knowledge of physics, chemistry, and biology. I hope to provide some support to your understanding of natural science by introducing earth and planetary science.

Osamu NAKAMURA

Course: Elements of Physics

Astronomy has contributed to changing the outlook of people on the world over a long period of time. Every discipline in natural science has more or less the same role. I have long nurtured a viewpoint that looks at this role as culture. I plan to discuss science reporting with you through the study of methodologies and achievements of scientific research.

Tomoaki YOSHITO

I have been engaged in research work in organic chemistry and astronomy. As subjects of study vary, so do their research methods and views on nature. I wish to continue to look at nature from different angles and pursue answers to the following questions: What is science? What is technology? What is journalism?

Masumi NASUKAWA

I am interested in cognitive science. It is difficult, yet interesting since we can actually experience it. I think science and technology issues embedded in society are also difficult and interesting since we can actually experience them. I wish to continue exploring this field while exchanging views and opinions with you.

Kaori OISHI

I am a member of the MAJESTy inaugural class. I have come to attach different nuances to such words as mass media, citizen, public, science, technology, and society, which I used to use so carelessly before I entered graduate school. I hope that you and I will be able to fully enjoy conveying our ideas through the careful weaving of our words.

Makoto TOMITA

Love can be conveyed via facial expressions and gestures. However, intellect cannot be conveyed unless a shape is given to it. In the future, journalists will be required to continually seek shapes, which enable them to pass on intellect to the living world, by leveraging ever changing media design to their advantage.
